baby crouch!

after days and days of labor, baby crouch is finally here! 8 lbs 11 oz and 21 inches, he was a a big one! Ty and Michael are both fine and thrilled to finally have him here. They are still working on a name. I put my vote in months ago...not telling what it was. If they don't use it, I will!

Welcome to the world, baby Crouch! I can't wait to meet you.

SAGITTARIUS LUNAR CYCLE
November 27 - December 26, 2008

Lighten up. ALL the planets are moving in direct motion till the end of the year giving you a clear path to celebrate and get in touch with your bigger picture.

The Sun, Moon, Mars, and Mercury line up in optimistic spiritually expansive Sagittarius at the time of the November 27th Thanksgiving New Moon.

Last month showed you it's time to leave the past behind and take a giant step. Now you must question your beliefs and assumptions... take that quantum leap and advance your private dreams.

Lucky Jupiter rules while finishing his year-long journey through responsible achievement-oriented Capricorn underscoring the need to commit the time and patience to make that bigger picture a solid vision with practical goals and steps.

A Full Moon in Gemini on Dec. 12th at 8:13 PM PST is the 5th and final SuperMoon of the year making it unusually powerful and declaring you've come to another crucial crossroads. Truth in action along with community and cooperation are important parts of the big changes you're making.

The Winter Solstice on Dec. 21st gives you a license to relax and celebrate the change to winter in the northern hemisphere and summer for those of you down under.

Upsides of this energy are enthusiasm, honesty, a sense of adventure, an open mind and generous spirit. Downsides are judgment, self-righteousness, tactlessness and excess. The key to the high side?...Allow all feelings, thoughts, and beliefs to be guided by your greater power.

Prepare to stretch your heart and mind, so you can aim high as you begin your list of intentions for a new "2" year.

Anything's possible...it depends on what you believe.

from moonsurfing.com

There is a baby Tyra and Michael headed into the world today. All of my thoughts and energy are directed that way. KU beat Missouri in football today, surprising everyone and winning me $20! It is snowing in Kansas. I am jealous. Although I do not want to deal with snow in seattle, it is nice to imagine snow falling outside the window...

leave a light on.

I love the feeling in the air the last week of November through the first of the year. Something feels different. Heavier. At the same time; lighter, happier. Somehow more meaningful. It makes me take deep breaths. and tear up more. and laugh harder. and care more about important things. and less about stupid things. like all of a sudden things are clear.

I know now that there is no one thing that is true - it is all true.
Ernest Hemingway

I happen to now know that Hemingway lived with a colony of 6 toed cats. If you've ever seen one of these then you know it always looks like they are wearing mittens. and in fact, that is very cute.

just because.

two years ago tomorrow is the anniversary of magic, whimsy, potions and secrets. I wonder what otherworldy gift i will get this year! Unfortunately whimsy will not be in attendance unless magic can somehow get her from texas to kansas with her power. I'm sure potions will have some ideas about that too.

"I forget to treasure all I have- incredible treasures. I am traveling again, emotionally restless while there is land to discover, lives unlived, men not known. What madness. I want to enjoy. I want to stop and enjoy."

Heading on a whirlwind tour of the Western and then Midwestern US... I will return to Seattle one year older and most likely feeling every minute of it. I am most looking forward to seeing my family and having a good old fashioned cake and ice cream party. Mom- I changed my mind. I think I want white cake with sprinkle frosting! and no singing!!!

A f ew birthday gifts came early this year. My first birthday gift- a kansas flag! Ad Astra Per Aspera!!!  My second was a toaster oven (i hate microwaves) from my parents...I'm not sure if it is a joke gift, or if they are really trying to make sure I burn down my apartment building...long story.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Houston Rockets. Portland took it with a "hail mary shot" in the last .8 of a second in overtime. 2nd best basketball game I've ever seen!!! 1st pro game I've ever been to! Who knew I was such a basketball fan?!

the rain is really here but the sun is still shining somewhere

rain every day for over a week...it's winter in the northwest! time to buy a sun lamp, but until it arrives i will just revel in photos of sunny days past in hopes the vitamin d has the ability to transmit through a computer screen. At the risk of sounding cheesy i will say that the idea that this country will soon be led by someone other than Bush will keep me smiling even through the rain.

KJ and Jerod- you can kind of see the space needle in the background of this picture... meet me there?
